As per your last item on Monkeys and Typewriters, here’s an AI prog-rock track I created a few months in Udio (Infinite Monkeys). The AI wrote the lyrics....
I'm a bit obsessed with Udio and Suno. Both allow you to upload your own riffs and licks - and it adds AI drums, vocals, etc. I have Garageband noodlings over many years that can now be turned into full songs. Suno also now has an audio sample feature that lets you record 20 seconds of yourself singing - and then create a song with your own singing voice (who needs autotune any more?). And a cover version feature that’ll take any song you’ve created and give you an instant cover version in whatever style you choose.
Both Udio and Suno allow you to download "stem" tracks ie you can download an AI generated track into separate voice, guitar, bass, drums tracks and import into something like Gargageband and then record your own stuff on top.
Appreciate many see these tools as a threat to creativity - but I can also see the positive use cases.
Here's an example "cyborg" track - one where the guitar is all me - AI added the vocal + lyrics, drums and bass.
You do a great job of making this stuff accessible and fun. Which is no mean feat.
Thank you, Johnnie. BTW will be in touch soon!

"Infinite monkeys, infinite keys
Across the universe, a scholarly breeze
Philosophers ponder, a theorem tease
Could Shakespeare emerge from such as these?"

Love it. I’ve not tried Udio or much music generation at all yet.
